American numismatic association
I work as a full time Graphic Designer at the American Numismatic Association. It is a non-profit for coin collectors, that has a magazine called The Numismatist, conventions all over the country, and more! I get to create a bunch of different things for all of their different programs, events, and advertising in general.
chicago world's fair of money logo, branding, & advertisements
For the logo, I wanted to create something vibrant and eye catching, while using bold colors and gradients. For the fonts, I wanted a lot of contrast between think & thick, while using a simple outline for the word “Chicago.”
Then we also have a post card & e-blast design for auction items for the fair while pulling in the colors from the brand itself.
Campaigns
Journey
Once a month, the ANA sends out postcards for donations. This one was about numismatics being a journey, so I thought to use a bike. To make it coin related I placed a penny into the wheel to make it a play on words. Their main brand color is yellow, so I definitely incorporated that in as well. We also sent out an e-blast to go with it.
thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving, they also sent out another card, and they also had an ad in The Numismatist. I wanted it to have a warm and cozy feel, so I chose an image with some hot chocolate, a blanket, and some fall leaves. For the type, I wanted to to be simple, but have some elegance with the script font.

Pittsburgh national money show
The Pittsburgh logo was created prior to my work at the ANA. I got to develop the brand with designing the Legacy Series admission tickets, and laying out all the advertising in The Numismatist, email blasts, and web ads.
museum signage
The ANA also owns the Money Museum in downtown Colorado Springs, and when we are closed, or have an event, I get to make some signs for the doors. I always use their main branding color, gold.
advertisements
From ads to the ANA, to memorial ads, to other ads for other coin companies, I get to create them for The Numismatist. Here are some of my favorites!
Illustrations
Another thing I get to do for this job is illustrations for the magazine. When the editors don’t have high resolution images, they have me illustrate them instead. Below is a painting I did of a Balkan Leader in acrylic.
I also drew this lapel pin with pencil. I love getting to do completely hand-on projects like these.
